Originally trained in drawing, Johanna found a canvas in clay, where simple forms became the foundation for her illustrations. She works from her studio, a small space carved out in the attic of a century-old building, where she creates hand-painted vessels, dishes, backsplashes, and custom pieces for designers and collectors. Although clay is her current canvas, she hopes to continue to move naturally between mediums as she evolves as an artist.
Dauntless takes its name from the boat Johanna called home during her childhood summers as a liveaboard.
